Birds don't see glass the way we do — a window either looks like open sky because of what it reflects, or it looks like a clear flight path straight through a house. Either way, the bird doesn't register it as a solid object until it's too late. Mesinurs Window Decals work by breaking up the illusion of open clear space reflected on windows. When decals are spaced closely enough across a window, birds perceive the surface as a barrier rather than open air and steer around it, the same way they'd naturally avoid a dense hedge or fence line. This is why spacing matters more than any single decal's design — a properly spaced pattern is what actually prevents strikes.

The number of decals in a pack varies from product to product, ranging from 9 larger decals to 50 smaller decals. On each product's page, we list the exact count included in that pack.

For best results, we recommend reapplying every 4 months or as the seasons change. Like any product left outdoors for long periods, decals can degrade when exposed to the elements. Placement in direct sunlight, or in extremely cold or extremely warm conditions, can accelerate this wear. Proper application also affects its lifespan. Decals should go on the exterior of the window, and the glass should be clean, smooth, and free of debris before applying.

These follow proven spacing patterns that reduce the chance of birds attempting to fly between them, and come in three styles: solid white, clear with a solid white border, and solid reflective. If you'd rather go a more decorative route, our bird-shaped decals feature silhouettes of predatory birds like hawks and falcons, which double as a visual deterrent, and are available in a variety of shapes and colors.

No — our decals are designed to be effective without taking over your window. Because spacing (not decal size) is what deters birds, you get full coverage using far fewer decals than most people expect, so your view stays largely unobstructed.

Our decals are designed for standard glass windows and are suitable for most residential and commercial applications, including large picture windows, sliding glass doors, and sunrooms — anywhere birds are prone to collisions. For tinted, coated, or specialty glass, we recommend testing a single decal in a small area first to confirm adhesion.
